In the zodiac, water signs are known for emotional depth, intuition, and shape-shifting sensitivity. British artists Alessandro Raho (Pisces), Mark Leckey (Cancer), and Dan Demarre (Scorpio) — three water signs — find themselves on the beach in Hastings, UK by the site of the 1066 Norman invasion, while Leckey exhibits across the Channel at Lafayette Anticipations in Paris.

Each was born in a port town — Nassau, Ellesmere Port, and Margate — places shaped by shifting tides. Now back on the coast, they reflect on domesticity and the priesthood of art: being fully in the moment while trying to create art that resists time; transmuting class through channeling icons.

Under the instinctual eye of Cancerian stylist Celestine Clooney, they borrow from each other’s wardrobes and channel their astrological archetypes, their everyday selves, and a friendship forged over years. Italian photographer Francesco Nazardo captures the moment — a “Jolly Boys’ Outing” of sorts.
