Fish Zhang:
"I want to explore the complicated relationships/friendships between girls by shooting them dressed in similar styles. The location, Odaiba, in Tokyo somewhat reminds me of where I come from- Shenzhen, China. Odaiba is an artificial island in Tokyo and Shenzhen is a completely new town with only 40 years history. The ultra-futuristic side and the fake side of the Odaiba reminds me of Shenzhen and of my teenage days when I was there. I remember I wanted to be/ dressed like my best friends so much, yet wanted to also stay unique. The contradiction of emotion is kind of similar to how the city makes me feel."
The stylist Jen-fang also has similar views with Fish, she tried to reproduce the street styling of FRUiTS magazine back to the 90’s and 00’s.

Fish Zhang is a Shenzhen born, Tokyo based photographer. Graduated from London college of Fashion in 2013, Fish was introduced to Photography later through working closely with a friend, Ren Hang. Her work often has a narrative, reflecting herself as a woman living in East Asia, revolves around discovering the multi-faceted nuances of the female identity.
Jen-fang Shueh, Taiwan born, Tokyo based designer. After her studying in Belgium and Paris, she moved to Japan and launched fashion brand “Mikio Sakabe” with her partner in 2007. In 2012, she had her first fashion show for her own brand JennyFax.
JennyFax is always trying to revive the possibility of those very personal memories, which will relight the present and future by bringing new challenges.
