Virginie Jemmely is a Swiss artist and designer whose work explores identity as a constructed, shifting assemblage. Through clothing, she approaches the body as a site of transformation, where garments act less as finished products than as tools for becoming, but also for questioning the roles and projections they carry.
Working with her own wardrobe, starting from a selection of personal favorite pieces, she stages a series of self-portraits that move between roles, clichés, and fragments of imagined lives. Each look becomes a temporary function, somewhere between costume, uniform, and projection.
Rather than defining a fixed identity, her practice embraces contradiction, layering, and misalignment, treating style as an intuitive and unstable language.
