The dolls dressed for an evening of celebrations, making new garments in the midst of their fashion education, unfolding newspapers, or lying in bed with macarons, eyes wandering across the ceiling. They are a group of adventurous and humorous girls who love parties, reading, fashion. As adults, we can at last step into the world the dolls once showed us, living the lives we once only imagined.
They are brought into being by 'Playing with Dolls at 2am', the duo of Yuhao and Xiang are a couple from China who found solace in sleeplessness, allowing insomnia to guide their hands into creation. At two in the morning, when the world grows quiet, dolls emerged as companions and refuge. What began as making slowly revealed itself as remembrance: a way of gathering all the dolls from your childhood wishlist, and bringing them home at last.
